SKY Blues midfielder Jay Tabb says there his still plenty to come from him despite being voted Player of the Year last season.

The 24-year-old Irishman established himself as a firm fans' favourite with a series of impressive displays in the Championship which underlined him as one of the players manager Chris Coleman could rarely do without.

But the ever-modest playmaker insists there is still plenty of room for improvement in his game.

"I'm only 24 so I've got lots of improving to do. Players don't really peak until they're 27 so just improving on last season and to get a few more goals I would be happy with that," he said.

Tabb netted six goals in the Club's last campaign, his highest season tally for the Sky Blues since joining from Brentford ahead of the 2006/07 campaign.

But he says he is still not happy with the total and hopes to make an even bigger impact this year, adding he hoped it would contribute to a finish in the top half of the Championship table.

"I'd have preferred a few more last season so I will be hoping to get a few more this season.

"But a successful season will be nice first and foremost . There have been two seasons where we have kind of struggled especially last year just avoiding relegation.

"So the aim for myself and probably the other boys is to have a good successful season, push up to the top half of the table and aim for the top six places."
