Marcus Hall has put pen to paper on a new contract with Coventry City.

The Sky Blues stalwart has signed a 12-month deal, lining him up for a twelfth season with his hometown club.

Hall has made a total of 272 appearances for Coventry in two spells. He came through the youth ranks to turn out 156 times for the Club, mostly during the Premier League, before making a short switch to Nottingham Forest in 2002.

Following spells with Southampton and Stoke he returned to the Sky Blues in 2005 and has since turned out another 116 times, making 21 appearances last term.

The 32-year-old admitted he had no doubts over penning his new deal and cannot wait for what he hopes will be a more successful season.

"I'm very pleased to sign a new contract," said the versatile defender. "It's good to get everything in place and I never had any doubts about signing.

"I'm delighted to be a Coventry City player and it's great that I'll be here for another season. It went a lot closer to the wire than I thought it would last season but things are in place for next season to be much better."

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman added that he is glad to add a player of Marcus' experience to his playing ranks in 2008/09.

"Marcus is a Coventry lad, he's a fans favourite and we're delighted that he'll be with us again next season," said the City manager.

"He's got bags of experience and you need that in any side. He's Coventry City through and through and he will be a valuable member of our squad next season."
