Coventry City's Young Player of the Year award for the 2007-08 campaign has been awarded to Leon Best.

The award, which is decided by Chris Coleman and his coaching staff, will be presented to the striker on the pitch ahead of this Saturday's crucial clash against Wolves.

Best has also been awarded the title of Sky Blue Trust Young Player of the Year, which is presented in memory of late Coventry City fan Christy Heffernan.

Coleman believes that Best has the potential to go on and be an excellent forward.

"Leon has most of the attributes you need to be successful - pace, strength and power. It is easy to forget that he is only 21-years-old because physically, he is a man.

"He has worked hard all season and you have to remember that for a lot of the time, he has been playing as a lone striker.

"I have been really impressed with him since I arrived at the Club and having discussed it with my staff, I believe that Leon is a worthy winner of the Young Player of the Year award."
