Coleman on Hillsborough clash
Manager Chris Coleman has reflected on Saturday's win over Plymouth, as he looks ahead to tonight's crucial clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
The Sky Blues boss knows that the game at Hillsborough will be a tight affair - although Coleman hopes that the side will carry forward the confidence from Saturday's win against Paul Sturrock's men.
"It was a big three points for us obviously," said Coleman.
"We haven't been scoring a lot of goals although we have been keeping clean sheets thankfully. It was nice to go in at half-time 2-0 up and I think that the third one was the all important one to finish the result.
"If you look back now at the QPR game and the Sheffield Wednesday game at home, it was four points dropped and that wasn't because we played badly. We just couldn't score. If you look at the difference those four points would make to us now, our worries would be over really. But we are where we are and we have to keep picking points up.
"Of late we have been hard to beat and we need to make sure that we continue that because the sooner we get out of trouble, the better. We still have a cloud hanging over us. We had a good win on Saturday and that's us unbeaten in three."
And Coleman says the pressure will be on Wednesday for the game at Hillsborough this evening.
"The Sheffield Wednesday game is a real big match for both clubs. If we came away with three points, it makes the gap that much bigger for us. If Sheffield Wednesday get the points then they close the gap again. We need to make sure we come back with something because a point is not the end of the world.
"Any kind of result away from home is good, especially at the end of the season when times are difficult. Pressure will be great on both teams. It's Sheffield Wednesday's patch and they will want to come to us and win the game so I think a point would be better for us than them at this stage."
