Doyle's delight
Michael Doyle couldn't hide his happiness after he scored a double to help the Sky Blues beat Plymouth 3-1 at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.
Speaking exclusively to Sky Blues World, the midfielder gave credit to Jay Tabb and said he was pleased it had all come good after a series of frustrating games.
"I am just delighted with the three points really," he said.
"That's all we wanted going into the game. We haven't scored for a while and we just wanted to get a few goals so luckily we did that today and took our chances.
"I think we wanted to continue to do as we had been doing in trying to keep clean sheets and taking the chances when they fell to us and I am really pleased that we managed to do that.
"It was one of those games. They came and tried to sit in and frustrate us. It probably wasn't the most spectacular start to a game but the goals helped and they then came out a bit and tried to play. I thought we dominated the game until the last 15 minutes maybe."
Doyle also talked through his two first-half goals.
"I saw Tabby and then just checked off to the back post. I don't think anybody saw me so I just took it on my chest and put it away.
"The second one came from a brave break - it was box to box. They were up in our box and then we broke - Tabby and Michael were nicking things all day so I went to the back post and just slotted it home on the volley."
