Coventry City have signed Portsmouth right-back Richard Duffy on loan until the end of the season.

It is the fourth time that the Welsh international has linked up with the Sky Blues and Duffy offers valuable cover in an area where midfielder Isaac Osbourne has been filling in during the absence of David McNamee through injury.

The 22-year-old impressed during his first loan stint at City in early 2005, when he made 15 appearances under Micky Adams as the Sky Blues escaped relegation, demonstrating strong defensive ability, dynamic wing play and a cool head.

He was then re-loaned for the whole of the 2005/06 season, making 34 appearances before returning to Pompey, although he failed to break into the first team at Fratton Park.

His third spell at City came in late 2006, when he played a further 13 times for the Sky Blues before going on to join his first club Swansea on loan for the remainder of the 06/07 campaign.

Capped 12 times by Wales, he has not made any first team appearances for Pompey this season but is a regular in their reserve side and brings excellent experience to the City squad.

He is eligible to join up with the squad for tomorrow's game against Southampton.
