City's youngsters rue missed chances
The U18s suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat away to Aston Villa on Saturday.
An excellent first half from the Sky Blues saw the squad have a total of five chances which they failed to take advantage of.
Assistant Manager Richard Stevens said: "We kept the ball well and had plenty of chances which didn't go our way. We were the better side in the first half but failed to maintain that level in the second."
The City side went a goal down in the first half with an unstoppable shot from Marc Albrighton from the home side. The Sky Blues battled back with an equaliser from fringe first-team player Donavan Simmonds with a 20-yard shot which he put over the keeper.
The second half saw Villa battle back to seal a second goal and in the last minute, claim the victory and all three points much to the disappointment of the hard-working Sky Blues.
With one U16s player starting and five on the bench the U18s side was awash with young blood, due to injuries amongst the side. With Andy Richie, Matthew West and Liam Robinson still side lined by long-term injuries, the good news is that Christopher Hollist is set the return this week in the clash at home against Watford.
